But we must require that each individual and organization abide by certain rules so that no one’s rights are infringed upon. Failure to abide by these rules can result in immediate termination of access to our websites, programs, events and services, without refund or recourse.
Please read these terms of service carefully because they describe your rights and responsibilities and form a legally binding agreement with Women’s Business Enterprise Council Canada (Here within WBE Canada) platform(s), events, certification and corporate membership. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, we respectfully request that you discontinue the use of WBE Canada’s platforms. By continuing to access the platforms, you acknowledge and accept these Terms of Service in its entirety.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
You understand that your content (not including credit card information), may be transferred unencrypted and involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service or any contact on the website through which the service is provided, without express written permission by us.
The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.
Platforms refers to all the platforms owned and managed by WBE Canada, including, but not limited to WBECanada.ca, WBEconference.ca, WBE Database, WBE Canada Toolbox, Certified WBE LinkedIn Group, our CRM solution and others. This refers to all the individual URL internet address locations, sites and pages within the WBE Canada domain. Unless otherwise noted, the term “Platforms,” includes all the content, text, information, images, graphics, postings, files, documents, multimedia materials, software, code, data, logos, brands, service and trademarks.
Content is the selection and arrangement of items, all copyrightable or otherwise legally protected items, and elements that represent the various features and functions or services of the platform.
Events refers to all the in-person, online or hybrid hosted events, conferences, workshops, training, and other networking opportunities organized by WBE Canada.
Use or Using refers to accessing, utilizing or participating in our platforms, events WBE Certification or Corporate Membership.
WBE Canada Entities is a term that means and includes our sponsors, members, WBEs, suppliers, partners, operational service providers, agents and representatives.
Additional Terms are any other terms WBE Canada discloses when using our Platforms or accessing an Event.
Privacy Policy outlines how we manage and safeguard the Information that we collect from Canadian women’s business enterprises (“WBE”), how the Information will be used, and the circumstances in which it will be disclosed.
WBE Certification is a verification process to confirm the business is majority owned, managed and controlled by a woman or women.
Certified WBE, Certified WBE Community, Women Business Enterprise, WBE, WBE Company refers to businesses certified by WBE Canada with valid “WBE Certification”.
Corporate Member refers to an organization in the public or private sector, or government department/municipality operating in Canada and is a business interested in procuring products/services from diverse suppliers, including Canadian Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) that are certified through WBE Canada.
Corporate Head Office refers to the headquarters where decisions are made to guide the operations of the individual businesses such as affiliates, subsidiaries & franchisees) toward the corporate goals.
Sector Association refers to organizations founded and funded by businesses that operate in a specific industry or sector.
These terms and conditions relate to the use of WBE Canada Platforms and associated WBE Certification processing and Corporate Membership purchases.
Access is at times limited to the following groups and requires (i) Certified WBE - an annual certification fee and renewal application approval; (ii) Corporate Member - an annual membership fee and Board of Directors approval; (iii) AGM, Board of Directors, Committees - as specified in By-Laws and Terms of Reference.
Login/Password Usernames and passwords are not to be shared in order to protect website integrity. Your access is intended solely for designated representatives of your company (who must be full-time employees of your organization) that have been granted permission; hence providing access to other individuals or organizations is strictly prohibited and violates the agreement;
Copyright of Content All content, unless otherwise noted in the Terms of Service, shall remain the exclusive intellectual property of WBE Canada. Unauthorized republication, distribution and transmitting of WBE Canada’s content may be subject to civil liability, criminal prosecution or both under the laws and regulations of Canada as well as any other state, national, provincial, regulations and treaties that may apply.
Respectful Online Conduct Treat other subscribers with courtesy and respect when posting messages. Do not engage in conduct which is or could be considered libelous, defamatory, indecent, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive, racially, culturally or ethnically offensive, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory or abusive.
Posting Posting content on WBE Canada platforms is allowed only in designated areas, such as the classified ad space. Unauthorized activities, including but not limited to commercial promotions, bulk emails, spam, chain letters, or malicious actions, are strictly prohibited. By posting on our platforms, you agree to indemnify and defend WBE Canada against any claims or liabilities arising from your postings, whether made by you or an unauthorized user.
Termination WBE Canada reserves the right to discontinue, suspend, or terminate your access to our Platforms at any time. This includes situations where your use of the Platforms, your content, or any posting is determined to violate the Terms of Service. In addition to any other rights or remedies available under these Terms of Service, applicable laws, or equity, WBE Canada may prohibit further postings from your account, remove or delete any content or postings you have made, revoke your access to the Platforms, or employ technological, legal, operational, or other means to enforce these Terms of Service, including blocking specific IP addresses or deactivating your account.
These Terms of Service relate to event registrations and associated ticket purchases for in person or virtual events hosted by WBE Canada.
All the prices for WBE Canada events are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
WBE Canada is based in Canada and all our Canadian customers will be required to pay tax in addition to the product price. Tax will be added to the base price automatically at the time of purchase. Taxes do not apply to Sponsorships.
Registrations are considered final.
By completing your order you consent to a payment transaction and authorize the amount due to its entirety. Payment will be processed based on the payment details provided utilizing the card number provided.
There are no refunds or chargebacks for nonparticipation.
Ticket purchases cannot be rolled forward or credited to future events. See registration transfer policy below.
Transfer of any tickets must be pre-approved by WBE Canada and must follow the guideline of each individual event.
Bonus materials associated with the event are only provided to those who attend in person (or virtually for virtual events).
Event attendees are required to check in and register at the event. Each attendee may be required to show photo identification at registration in order to enter the event.
A signed media release form is required for participation at a WBE Canada hosted event. A copy of the media release form is provided below for your reference.
I acknowledge that this WBE Canada event is open to press coverage and may be filmed, photographed, blogged, posted on social media, streamed, webcast, broadcast and otherwise recorded, displayed, performed, reproduced and distributed. I consent to being recorded and agree that my voice, name, likeness, identification and actions may be used by WBE Canada and others, including event sponsors/partners, without limitation or restriction, for all purposes (including promotion and advertising). I waive all rights and claims, including compensation. I understand WBE Canada and partners are relying upon this consent in connection with this event.
These Terms of Service relate to WBE Certification provided by WBE Canada.
All WBE Certification applications are subject to a review by WBE Canada in accordance with WBE Canada Certification Policy & Procedures.
Please note receipt of payment with the application does not constitute an approved certification.
WBE Canada offers one level of certification at a $750 annual fee, plus tax. This is a non-refundable processing fee.
WBE Certification Expiry WBE Certification expires on the anniversary date of the original approved certification date or when a WBE Certified business loses its compliance with the terms of certification; benefits cease when a membership expires.
WBE Certification Renewal WBEs receive renewal reminders as outlined under “WBE Certification Ownership”. Changes to certification fees will only be made at the time of annual renewal of the certification. The primary contact is responsible to respond to the renewal correspondence and provide necessary documentation to confirm interest and eligibility for WBE Certification for the following year. Renewals are processed via WBE Database in accordance with
and Procedures.
WBE Certification Transfer WBE Certification is transferable based only on the following: if the company changes its registered name with no other changes to ownership or management structure.
WBE Certification Benefits WBE Certification is activated when the application is approved by the Certification Committee. Your membership will be valid for a twelve (12) month subscription. Certification benefits are assigned to the Applicant, its primary and secondary contacts of the specific organization. Certification benefits cannot be extended to other businesses owned by the same owner, the affiliated business or membership, board representatives, contractors and/or volunteers. Access to Services Services provided by WBE Canada will only be made to authorized representatives (primary and secondary contacts) of the Certified WBE Company and any communication will be made via phone or email within 7 business days by WBE Canada. WBE Canada Events are open to all full-time employees representing WBE Certified business. WBE Canada reserves the right to change, from time to time, the services available to its Certified WBE community.
WBE Certification General. Services provided by WBE Canada in relation to certification are only available to designated business representatives. It is the responsibility of the WBE company to ensure that their assigned representatives are accurate. WBE Canada accepts no liability for the provision of services to assigned representatives. WBE Canada accepts no liability for the denial of services to individuals not designated as representatives of associated Certified WBE companies. The Applicant must notify us of changes to their contact details or risk not receiving important announcements and services available from WBE Canada.

All membership applications are subject to review by WBE Canada. Please note receipt of payment with the application does not constitute an approved membership. WBE Canada offers 2 membership categories: (i) Corporate Membership and (ii) Affiliate Membership.
By clicking the "Submit Application" you are agreeing to WBE Canada's Corporate Membership Policy. This application, when approved, will result in an annual membership that will auto renew unless WBE Canada is given 90 days cancellation notice prior to your renewal month..
Corporate Membership fees are based on annual Canadian revenue. These four fee levels are as follows: (i) $10,000 per year - Revenues/Budget greater than $500 million; (ii) $7,500 per year - Revenue/Budget between $250 million and $500 million; (iii) $5,000 per year - Revenue/Budget between $10 million and $250 million; (iv) $2,500 per year - Revenue/Budget less than $10 million.
Government Membership Applicants affiliated with WBE Canada through certain organizations may qualify for a membership at a $2,500 annual rate. This applies if the applicant is: (i) an affiliate, subsidiary, or franchisee of a corporate head office that holds WBE Canada membership at the $10,000 level; (ii) a board or corporation of a municipality that is a WBE Canada member at the $10,000 level; or (iii) a crown agency or crown corporation of a provincial or federal government with WBE Canada membership at the $10,000 level. During the application process, applicants must provide the name of the corresponding corporate head office or organization to confirm eligibility.
Membership Ownership The WBE Canada Corporate Membership belongs to the Applicant “the company, organization, association or agency” and one primary contact is appointed to manage the account content, renew the membership and oversee any secondary contacts. Corporate Membership and associated benefits belong to the Applicant’s one (1) primary business address, not the owner; staff member; affiliated businesses or membership. Membership is not transferable from one organization to another or to multiple businesses associated with the Applicant. A “Primary Representative” contact provided by the Applicant is assigned to the membership with complete control of the online membership content and can login on behalf of the Applicant member to initiate actions such as membership renewals. The primary contact will receive notice of renewal 60, 30 and 10 days before expiry as well as day of and 30 days after expiry. The primary contact can also add secondary contacts to the membership. Secondary contacts will receive their own login information and can enjoy member benefits. Secondary contacts cannot update or change the primary membership information.
Membership Fee Payment Annual membership dues are due upon application and thereafter, on the annual registration anniversary date. Monthly membership dues are due upon registration and thereafter, monthly on the same date as registration. Members are responsible for providing accurate and complete billing information. Failure to do so may result in the suspension or termination of membership. All fees, including member dues, are non-refundable.
Membership Expiry Membership expires on the anniversary date of payment; benefits cease when a membership expires.
Membership Renewal Members receive renewal reminders as outlined under “Membership Ownership”. Membership is automatically renewed unless canceled by the member 90 days before the next renewal date. Members may cancel their membership at any time to be reflective of the next renewal year. To cancel Members must notify the WBE Canada Finance team by emailing to accounting@wbecanada.ca. Cancellation will take effect at the next renewal date; no refunds will be provided for the remaining membership period.
Membership Transfer Membership is non transferable, If an organization is no longer in business as they were sold or bankrupt for example the remainder of the annual membership fee is canceled; no refunds will be provided for the remaining membership period..
Membership Benefits Membership is activated once WBE Canada receives and approves the application. Your membership will be valid for a full twelve (12) month subscription or part thereof as agreed to. Membership benefits are assigned to the Applicant, its assigned contacts of the specific organization. Unless arranged through a special partnership with WBE Canada, there is no affiliated extension of membership or benefits. Specifically, member benefits of the applicant cannot be extended to its affiliated business or membership, board representatives, contractors and/or volunteers. Access to Services provided by WBE Canada will only be made to authorized representatives (primary and secondary contacts) of the member organization and will be made via any means and/or medium deemed appropriate by WBE Canada. WBE Canada Events are open to multiple representatives of Corporate Member organizations.
Change of Owner Details The Applicant must promptly notify WBE Canada, in writing (print or email), of changes to the Applicant’s company legal name, registered address or billing address(es), or primary contact details since changes could impact WBE Canada’s ability to deliver the Applicant’s membership services.
Membership General Services provided by WBE Canada in relation to membership are only available to designated Corporate Member representatives. It is the responsibility of the member organization to ensure that their assigned representatives are accurate. WBE Canada accepts no liability for the provision of services to assigned representatives. WBE Canada accepts no liability for the denial of services to individuals not designated as representatives of associated member organizations. The Applicant must notify us of changes to their contact details otherwise WBE Canada may not be able to make their services available to you.
Payment of Membership Fee WBE Canada offers a range of options to pay membership fees.(i) Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), . (ii) Pay with cheque, (iii) Credit Card
Privacy WBE Canada is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and others who use our services. WBE Canada’s Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes the policies and practices with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information. The Policy may be updated from time to time, with updates approved by WBE Canada to reflect developments in WBE Canada’s practices, new technology or the law. Updates will be made available in the same way as the Policy. WBE Canada’s collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information will be governed by the version of this Policy in effect at the time.
Confidentiality When using our platforms, including posting or engaging with others, your identity and any content shared ("Postings") are neither confidential nor anonymous. You are expected to identify yourself and disclose any relevant affiliations when interacting on our platforms. Features such as discussion boards, forums, chat functions, and messaging tools are not designed to protect the confidentiality of your Postings. We do not verify, review, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any Postings, nor do we have an obligation to monitor or continue monitoring your activity or content. However, we reserve the right to do so at our discretion and may request confirmation of any information you provide at any time. Please note that Postings are not endorsed by us and are not subject to screening.
All content and graphics on our Platforms and Events are protected by Canadian copyright and international treaties and may not be copied or re-used without the express written permission of WBE Canada, which reserves all rights.

WBE Canada reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. Members will be notified of these changes prior to implementation, however it will be your responsibility to review any changes set out in the notification. Indemnity
By using WBE Canada’s platforms, events, WBE certification, or corporate membership, you agree to hold harmless WBE Canada and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, and partners from any claims or actions, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms of Service, any referenced documents, or violations of applicable laws or third-party rights.
WBE Canada’s platforms and services are provided without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of title, non-infringement, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that our platforms or services will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs. Any reliance on these platforms or services is at your own discretion. WBE Canada is not responsible for any potential harm to your devices, systems, or data, including damages resulting from malicious code or unauthorized access. It is your responsibility to ensure you have appropriate safeguards in place to protect your equipment, data, and systems.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for loss, damage, cost and/or expense of any kind in connection with or arising from use of our platforms, our terms of service, including, but not limited to, direct, compensatory, consequential, incidental, indirect, special, exemplary and punitive damages, regardless of the form of action or basis of the claim and whether or not a party has been advised of the possibility of damages.
