2018 Supplier Diversity Leader: Catherine Grosz
Catherine has had an extensive and exciting career with BMO Financial Group. Since joining BMO Financial Group she has held a number of progressive roles in the Branch Environment, Corporate Head Office, the Chairman’s Office, Strategic Sourcing, and now in her current role as Manager of BMO Financial Group’s Supplier Diversity Program. In 1997, Catherine joined Strategic Sourcing to manage and negotiate with suppliers on behalf of BMO Financial Group – a key function given the Bank’s focus on improving their competitive position and improving their productivity. Catherine was awarded as one of Canada’s 2015 Top 10 Influential Women in HR & Diversity by DiversityCan Magazine as well as 2019 Top 25 Women in Power Impacting Diversity by Diversity Plus Magazine – she was the only Canadian on the list.

Recognizing the importance and value of supplier diversity can be a big change for a corporation, especially one the scale of Canada’s largest municipality. Successfully developing and implementing their program was an incredibly complex and multi-layered initiative, and Toronto is leading a way in social procurement.
