WBE Story: Wonderkind

Wonderkind is an online gifting service founded in March 2019 specializing in corporate and event gifting and featuring Made in Canada products from majority women-owned and female founded businesses across the country. Wonderkind collaborates with over 100 + small businesses across Canada ranging from candle makers, glass blowers and artists to skin care manufacturers and food producers.

Co-founded by Shawna Pereira and Tara Cochrane, Wonderkind was created in March 2019 and certified almost immediately with WBE Canada. In November 2019, Wonderkind participated in WBE Canada’s first Tradeshow at the 2019 National Conference and in 2020 they were awarded WBE Canada’s Excellence Award as Top WBE Supplier. Sustainability and social purpose are key factors in Wonderland’s selections for corporate buyers. WBE Canada’s Canadian Women Brand logo is an important marketing tool for corporate clients looking to purchase from and support Canadian Women-Owned Businesses.

Shawna Pereira also looks at Canadian Women Brand as a network not just for purchasing, but for other women-owned businesses and participants in WBE Canada so they can work together and support each other. Wonderkind has an unwavering commitment to women, Canadian content and giving back and proudly displaying the CWB logo helps them deliver on that commitment.

Shawna Pereira

Shawna is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Wonderkind Inc. She graduated from Ryerson Image Art – Photography and has over 10 years of experience in the printing industry with Canadian printer Friesens Corp. Shawna is also the first female to win Friesens National Sales Award. In 2019 she co-founded Wonderkind, a Canadian gifting service that highlights “Canadian Made”products, supporting female entrepreneurs. Wonderkind works with over 130 female founded businesses across Canada. Shawna is highly involved in community and fundraising efforts in several Toronto communities including Cabbagetown, Regent Park and St. Jamestown
