Reporting to the Community Sr. Lead and the Director of Community & Certification, the Community Lead will be responsible for the development, delivery and support of programs, initiatives and events for WBE Canada’s Community composed of Corporate Members, Partners, and Women-Owned Businesses. You will be a key point of contact supporting the success of our Community, creating an environment for connection, and supporting and protecting the culture. This role is a great fit for an individual who has compassion for helping others, is very detail-oriented, a great communicator and an individual who is a quick starter and forward thinker with strong interpersonal skills, ready to support and drive the Community.

About the Role

As a key member of our Community team, you will:

  • Work closely with our Community Sr. Lead to implement action plans, engage our Community, deliver programs, provide timely communication and measure program success,
  • Maintain the community accounts and ensure that profiles are reviewed, approved and all changes are up to date and synced between all database platforms used at WBE Canada,
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Marketing Teams to ensure relevant information, updates and resources are being added to online platforms,
  • Moderate forums and community engagement, engage and support mentors, trainers and volunteers to ensure community support, engagement and retention,
  • Working with the Community Sr. Lead, develop virtual and in-person event material to ensure all aspects of the event are covered (ie: agenda, presentation, confirm speakers, speeches, roundtables etc),
  • Collaborate with the Community Sr. Lead on the collection of WBE and corporate success stories, testimonials and articles from the Community,
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team on the Magazine by collecting and organizing articles, ads, testimonials and success stories,
  • Collaborate with the Community Sr. Lead and track community-related KPIs,
  • Track and deliver sponsorship deliverables, ensuring promptly delivery based on agreements,
  • Support preparation of FAQs, sponsorship guides, other tools and resources for the community,
  • Cross-train on the Certification process to ensure seamless support within the team,
  • Review Community onboarding and create all community SOPs and updates as needed,
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Community Sr. Lead and the Director of Certification & Community informed about all critical issues,
  • Actively support the planning, preparation and production of the National Conference ensuring the highest value for our Community,
  • Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in community engagement or a related field or relevant work experience is an asset,
  • Must possess strong organizational skills,
  • Experience in customer support, retail or hospitality or demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders,
  • Forum management experience would be an asset,
  • Strong written and oral communication in English is a must, French language is an asset,
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite and Adobe Acrobat,
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Active Campaign would be an asset,
  • Experience and understanding of coordinating events, programs and/or accounts from the planning stage to the execution stage is an asset,
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment,
