WBE Canada Welcomes UPS as a Corporate Member
For immediate release
Women Business Enterprises Canada Council (WBE Canada) is excited to announce that UPS has joined the WBE Canada community as our newest corporate member.
“UPS has long been committed to supplier diversity and economic inclusion,” said Kris Oswold, Vice President of Global Supplier Diversity, “UPS looks forward to supporting WBE Canada in its mission to advance economic growth across Canada through certification, promotion and development of women-owned businesses.”
An increased number of private and public organizations are implementing supplier diversity programs. By doing so they increase innovation and customer satisfaction, experience better employee retention and drive greater value throughout their organization and for their customers – all of which are necessary to remain competitive in today’s marketplace. WBE Canada’s corporate and government members work actively to diversify their supply chains by engaging more Canadian women-owned businesses in their procurement opportunities.
“I am excited to welcome UPS as our newest Corporate Member,” said Silvia Pencak, President of WBE Canada, “As we look towards economic recovery from the pandemic, it is crucial that supply chains are redefined and redesigned to be more inclusive and open to women-owned businesses. Canadian WBEs have proven they are savvy, resilient and innovative and are ready to take on larger opportunities and compete on an international level. WBE Canada looks forward to working with UPS to ensure that Canadian business women have access to the opportunities within their supply chain.”
