Media Release: WBE Canada Hosts Its First WBE 2 WBE Matchmaker

On May 15th, 2019 WBE Canada hosted its first ever WBE to WBE Matchmaker event in partnership with TD Bank. This event was designed to help connect women-owned businesses with larger WBE buyers as a tiered approach to supplier diversity.
For larger WBEs (buyers), the WBE 2 WBE Matchmaker event offered a streamlined and efficient way to meet innovative women-owned businesses based on their procurement needs.
For eligible WBE suppliers, WBE 2 WBE Matchmaker Event provided an incredible opportunity to meet one-on-one with buyers from larger WBE businesses seeking to support other WBEs specifically interested in their services.
Select certified WBEs also had the opportunity to meet with buyers from TD Bank, especially in HR and Event & Marketing categories.
This event provided lots of networking opportunities and brought our community of women-owned businesses closer together.
Quotes:
“We are a newly certified WBE, but we are very excited to support the community and find opportunities in our own supply chain for Canadian WBEs,” said Janice Rendflesh from Emterra, a WBE Canada Certified company.
“I come to many WBE Canada events, and Matchmaker meetings are one of my favourites,” said Marte Belisle from SommEvents. “Having the opportunity to meet with buyers face-to-face for a longer time without the interruption is priceless. You have time to share your capabilities, ask and answer questions and make deeper connections.”
This event was a great success and we will be looking to making it a regular event to encourage connections and business networking among our certified WBEs. Thank you TD Bank for hosting this event!
