Meet the presenters
Charmaine Hammond, highly sought-after keynote and workshop speaker, entrepreneur, author and Certified WBE teaches the importance of conflict resolution, developing trust, and collaboration in the workplace. She has presented to 500,000++ people worldwide, has a Master’s Degree in Conflict Management & Analysis, is a bestselling author (of 5 books & featured in 11 others) and is the executive producer of an award-winning animated film, Back Home Again, about the Fort McMurray wildfires created to be a conversation starter about mental health. The film’s star-studded voice cast includes Michael J. Fox, Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Tantoo Cardinal, Howie Mandell and more.
Bobbylynn Stewart is the CEO and majority owner of Breck Construction. She has been pivotal in the company’s success, earning a reputation as a preferred supplier among Saskatchewan’s largest industrial clients. With an MBA and extensive experience spanning both public and private sectors, her unique background provides a depth of knowledge and strategic acumen.
As an owner in a male-dominated industry, Bobbylynn is passionate about advancing women in construction and fostering gender diversity and inclusion at Breck Construction. She contributes to the industry as a board member for the Saskatchewan Industrial and Mining Suppliers Association (SIMSA) and holds the role of Carpenter’s Trade Division Chairperson, representing the Construction Labour Relations Association.
Jen Kelly leads New Initiatives Marketing Inc., (NIM) a marketing services company for growing businesses. Prior to starting NIM in 2009, Jen gained 17 years of experience in the marketing departments at tier-one companies in Canada and overseas working for brands such as the Financial Times UK in London, Siemens, and Motorola. She started her career in marketing departments back when there were fax campaigns (!!!) Jen has worked through major changes in the industry from “Why do we need a website?” to “Why do we need to be on social media?” to “How are we going to market through COVID?”. Jen has been consistently and steadily advising NIM’s clients to implement solid marketing processes that can help their company grow and achieve their business goals. NIM is a WBE-certified woman-owned company.
Jenna Ross is the Founder and President of The Nova Scotian Cookie Company. The company produces premium shortbread cookies in the shape of a lighthouse.
The goal of the company is to celebrate the love of Nova Scotia with the world through this uniquely packaged product so that as much social impact can be made.
Tanya received her law license in 2006 from Osgoode Hall Law School. Tanya practiced at two Bay Street firms before opening her firm, Walker Law Professional Corporation (“Walker Law”), which was originally located on Bay Street in 2010. This year Walker Law celebrates its fourteenth anniversary, where it employs twelve full-time employees including lawyers and law clerks in the area of commercial litigation. Walker Law prides itself on focusing on resolutions to assist clients with resolving their legal disputes by delegating tasks in the matter to the most cost-effective team member, while ensuring that they are supervised properly. Walker Law has been a certified WBE since 2016. In 2020, Walker Law was nominated and a top three finalist for Top WBE Supplier, which recognizes certified women-owned businesses that demonstrate excellence and support for other women-owned businesses. Tanya has been the recipient of many awards which include the Lexpert (owned by Thomson Reuters) Rising Star Award, Minority Business Enterprise Award, and the Osgoode Hall Law School Gold Key award. Tanya has argued before various Tribunals, the Superior Court, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. She appears regularly on national television stations such as CityTV, CityNews, CBC and CTV as a legal analyst.
