Supplier Diversity Toolkit Workshop: The Art of Communication

May 8 @ 12:30 pm - May 9 @ 4:00 pm EDT

Supplier Diversity Toolkit

In this Workshop, we will delve into the art of communication for different levels and needs within the organization. We all know that messages need to be tailored to the audience, but what if you don’t know that much about your audience, or simply don’t have the time to create multiple presentations? Jamie and Lindsay have put together a workshop to address the many different audiences that supplier diversity must speak to.
Lindsay will kick things off on Day 1 with a deep dive into messaging and tailoring it without having to spend hours and hours to get it right. She will cover the various audience members you may need to engage with internally as well as creating your “base message” that the rest will be built around. She will discuss how to position your message for different recipients, how to incorporate your company culture and vocabulary, and how to save a ton of time getting them ready. Then she and Jamie will cover best practices for creating the messaging as well as review a couple of templates that will reside in the Tool Kit on the WBE Canada website.

On Day 2 we will have a corporate-only presentation and discussion alone with Jamie who will speak to the five basic elements of your supplier diversity message and best practices on how to get them ready without breaking the bandwidth bank. Next, she will discuss actionable asks for your audience to get them more engaged in supplier diversity advocacy and establishing a better relationship to the
supplier diversity and procurement team. From the c-suite to business unit heads, to procurement, we have your back to get the most from your message. Day 2 will also feature two case practices from Jamie’s own corporate experiences. She has sanitized actual templates utilized by corporates who have had success with their communication plans. Find out what they have done, what made the difference, and what to avoid. Finally, we will have a generous Q&A with Jamie. This is where you can discuss, with no WBEs in the room, your specific issues and questions and get tips from Jamie and other corporate attendees.

Don’t miss this session packed with tips and techniques that the professionals use in the corporate environment. Get your questions ready because each one you ask either live or through the Q&A in the app will earn you a shot at an amazing gift that we will tell you about at the Workshop.
