Public Services and Procurement Canada, a WBE Canada Government Member, is pleased to provide a general overview of the Government of Canada’s procurement modernization initiative; making procurement easier, simpler, and increasing access to opportunities for all suppliers. This presentation will include a demonstration of the CanadaBuys tendering service – the new home for doing business with the Government of Canada.

Meet the Presenters
Senior Director, Procurement Business Modernization Directorate
Kate has worked in the procurement field for sixteen years. Since June of 2021, she has been the A/Senior Director of the Procurement Business Modernization Directorate at Public Services and Procurement Canada. She is responsible for the implementation of CanadaBuys; the Government of Canada’s new procurement service. Prior to taking on this role, Kate worked at Employment and Social Development Canada, where she led vendor relationships and performance on the Benefits Delivery Modernization Program as Director of Partner Relations Management. Kate has spent the majority of her career at Public Services and Procurement Canada, holding various roles on complex and high-profile procurement projects and as Strategic Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Procurement.
Project Administrator – User Experience and Service Design (CanadaBuys)
Myryam joined the CanadaBuys project in 2017, back when it was known as Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Electronic Procurement Solution (EPS) project. Since joining the project, she provided communication services as part of the Program Management Office and lead logistic activities on the Coordination Team before joining the User Experience and Service Design (UXSD) team in the summer of 2019. As part of UXSD, Myryam serves as the CanadaBuys site Web publisher while simultaneously coordinating stakeholder engagement for the Government of Canada’s upcoming single point of access, a platform that will regroup intended government procurement notices from all levels of the broader public service. Myryam is also a professional manuscript editor.
